About Our Founder
Mertol Orçun Arif
I was born in 1987 in Aydın, Turkey. Throughout my 17-year career in Turkey, I gained significant experience across various sectors and had the opportunity to learn the fundamental principles of trade, production, and sustainable growth through hands-on experience in the field.
My primary areas of professional expertise are agriculture and livestock farming. I possess extensive knowledge and field experience regarding production processes, agricultural planning, the management of livestock operations, product sourcing, and marketing. As someone who appreciates the value of the land and production, I believe that successful trade begins with reliable production and sound planning.
In addition to agriculture and livestock farming, I have developed expertise in the trade of staple food products, purchasing and sales operations, product supply processes, and the establishment of commercial connections between factories, dealers, and distributors. I have gained significant experience—particularly over the last five years—in forging strong and sustainable partnerships among producers, factories, dealers, and sales channels.
I first came to Cambodia for a vacation. After witnessing firsthand the country’s development potential, the warmth of its people, and the opportunities in the market, I decided to bring the experience I had gained in Turkey—along with my future plans—to Cambodia. This decision was not merely about starting a new company; it marked the beginning of a new chapter in both my life and my professional journey. I aim to bring the entirety of my accumulated knowledge—combining 17 years of experience gained in Turkey with the trade and distribution expertise I have developed over the last five years—to Cambodia’s future. My goal is not merely to achieve commercial success, but to write a new, exemplary success story between Türkiye and Cambodia built on trust, quality, and mutual benefit.
My future plans include making long-term investments in the fields of agriculture, livestock, food, retail, and international trade; contributing to local employment; and developing sustainable projects that support Cambodia’s economic development.
With this goal in mind, I established Mertol Sunflower Import & Export Co., Ltd. to build a strong trade bridge between Turkey’s reliable manufacturers and the Cambodian market. My aim is to deliver high-quality cleaning, cosmetic, food, and everyday consumer products to the people of Cambodia through an efficient supply chain, making high quality accessible at affordable prices.
Ms. Ket Sopheap
I was born in 1981 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. She is an entrepreneur with nearly two decades of experience in the tourism industry and is currently actively involved in developing business, trade, and connectivity between Cambodia and the Republic of Turkey.
After graduating from high school, she pursued an associate degree and specialized in Korean-speaking tour guides for the Phnom Penh and Siem Reap regions.
In 2004, she began her career in the tourism industry, working as a tour guide and tour operator, especially with Korean tourists. Over nearly 20 years of work experience, she has developed many key skills, including international communication, customer management, tour planning, team coordination, and building long-term relationships with business partners.
The COVID-19 pandemic has severely impacted the tourism industry and has become a major turning point in her career. Instead of staying in her previous field of experience, she began to explore new opportunities in international trade and import-export business.
In 2024, she met with CEO Mr. Mertol Orcun Arif and this meeting became the beginning of a new business vision. Both parties began to plan to bring Turkish products and brands to the Cambodian market, as well as to establish distribution channels and expand business opportunities between the two countries.
Since then, the business has continued to develop continuously by expanding products, establishing distribution channels, finding business partners and studying new import-export opportunities.
Vision
Ms. Ket Sopheap’s vision is not only to bring Turkish products to Cambodia, but also to create a trade bridge and long-term relationships between Cambodia and Turkey.
She intends to continue to participate in:
Promoting the import of quality products and brands from Turkey to Cambodia
Finding opportunities to bring Cambodian products to the Turkish market
Building a network between investors, manufacturers, exporters and importers of both countries
Promoting Business Matching and long-term business partnerships
Contributing to strengthening economic, trade and investment relations between Cambodia and Turkey.
“My vision is to build more than a business. It is to build a bridge between Cambodia and Türkiye — connecting people, products, opportunities and long-term partnerships.
